Pros of the South Shore Furniture City Life Collection TV Stands:
- Affordable pricing when compared to similar models that are capable of holding 36 and 40 inch televisions. Most models available for $200 to $300.
- Choice of popular finishes and stylish design makes it a modern-looking piece of furniture that is functional and constructed from eco-friendly materials and attractive accents.
- Users report that the South Shore Furniture City Life Collection TV Stands are advertised to fit 40 inch and smaller televisions, but a 58 inch plasma television will fit and still looks great!
- It is a very sturdy piece of furniture that looks upscale and better in person, than it appears in online pictures, making it a great value that compares to upscale television stands.
- Easy to assemble and features plenty of media storage space or you can use part of it as an outlet space to hide wires that would normally be visible behind the set.
- Comes with a five year limited warranty.
Cons of the South Shore Furniture City Life Collection TV Stands:
- Legs are a little flimsy and made from plastic and not metal, compared to the rest of the stand which has sturdy construction, so some users didn't put them on.
- Packaging of the South Shore Furniture City Life Collection TV Stands was reported as bad and not quite worthy of rough handling during shipping, so check for tiny scratches or dents. The Styrofoam packing material is the flaky type that leaves flakes everywhere!
- Laminate is susceptible to harsh cleaning chemical, so it must be cleaned with dusting sprays or soap and water.
If you want to buy this television stand, I highly recommend you buy them through Amazon here. You won’t find them cheaper anywhere else.

Let me show you what current owners have to say about it.
Frank E. Trinkle,
We purchased this stand on Amazon with a little trepidation, having had bad experiences with DIY assembly furniture in the past... especially items made in China. We were very very pleased however with this unit.
The materials used are high quality MDF, and every pre-drilled hole and plug was in exactly the right position. (No off-center or missing holes like many previous items we have assembled). The unit is made in Quebec, Canada, and the company is clearly dedicated to quality! The assembly manual was thorough and understandable. Every illustration in the manual showed each piece precisely as it should be oriented, with every pre-drilled hole shown in the illustration. This is critically important, because it eliminates the potential for assembling any piece the wrong way and having to start over.
Each piece is clearly marked with a code that is referenced in the manual, and the company ships the unit with a few extra small items like plastic dowels... "just in case"!
Assembly was straightforward and timed at exactly one hour... including downing two cups of coffee during assembly!
